Details
This 1988 Gibson ES-175D is a great example of a classic jazz box with a slightly different twist. Unlike the more common maple construction, this one features mahogany back and sides, which give it a warmer, rounder response with a softer top end and a strong fundamental. The laminated spruce top keeps the attack articulate while resisting feedback, and the dual humbucker setup offers plenty of tonal range, from smooth and woody neck pickup tones to a more cutting bridge sound when needed. The slim, comfortable neck profile makes it easy to navigate complex chords and single-note lines up the neck. This guitar is in very good condition for its age, showing light, honest playwear, light finish-checking, but no structural issues. The pickups and all of its parts are original to this instrument. It plays well, sounds full and balanced, and delivers that unmistakable ES-175 feel that players love. It comes with it’s original Gibson hardshell case.
