Details
For an instrument that is a decade old, this 2013 Taylor 914ce is in excellent cosmetic condition, which is fitting considering that it would be an absolute shame to mar such a beautiful instrument. Through their 900 series instruments, Taylor offers some of the most ornately crafted and wonderfully appointed instruments on the market. This 914ce is certainly no exception. Indeed, this guitar features a host of beautiful appointments such as the pearl rosette and purfling, wood binding, and gold Gotoh 510 tuners. But most exquisite of all has to be the floral-inspired pearl fingerboard inlays that artfully complements the dark ebony fretboard. Don’t let the pretty exterior fool you though; sonically, this guitar is absolutely a joy to behold. Thanks to the scalloped X-bracing, this guitar is extremely dynamic, and the Sitka/Rosewood combination gives it a tone that is bright yet pleasant and warm. It is clear that it has been well maintained and is in excellent cosmetic condition. The frets show little if any signs of wear and the back of the neck is free from any divots, dents or dings. Likewise, the action is nice and low and the neck is set straight with a tiny bit of relief.
