Details
An excellent fern F-5 Master Model, label signed and dated by Danny Roberts. The previous owner had the fingerboard scooped past the 21st fret, and the top of the ebony bridge saddle has been gracefully smoothed to make the player's right hand and wrist more comfortable. We've known this F-5 for a long time, and several years ago it suffered the typical knock to the top of the headstock that cracked the large curl, and the same blow resulted in the chip to the back edge of headstock just below the curl. The headstock was repaired by Frank Ford. (see photos). There are no other cracks or repairs, and this F-5 has always been well cared for. There are some light scuffs and a couple of small shallow dings to the finish on the top, and some little shirt-button squiggles to the back. There is light fret wear, as shown in our photos, thankfully the previous owner had a soft touch with their left hand. It's a great sounding F-5, with a loud and solid chord chop and plenty of bass response as well as strong, clear trebles.
