Details
It's great to see Martin use their iconic Dreadnought shape for a smaller body size. This HG-28 is about the size of a 000, and the same depth and string scale, but the wide-waisted shape, and Hawaiian koa back and sides, gives this new model a distinctly different tone. Don't be confused by the "Oahu" name instead of "Est. 1833" on the headstock decal, this is a made-in-Nazareth Martin, but Oahu is a tribute to the influence of Hawaiian music on the Martin company in the 'teens and 1920s. For those who love Martin Dreadnought tone, but would like that sound in a more intimate, easy-playing model, this new HG-28 model has a lot to offer.
