There's something about these original all-mahogany models that makes them perfect for songwriters, or for backing vocals, fingerpicking, and the list goes on. Small and light, both the appearance and the tone is straightforward. This example just never saw much use, although a small pickup was mounted in the soundhole years ago, as 2 small repaired screw holes remind us. And a small crack on the treble side has been neatly repaired. Along with the original finish, it has the original tuners, pickguard, and bridge.
For a time, years and years ago, Martin's 0-15 was sometimes called the "Woody Guthrie model" because Woody often played one, and when he was in the chips bought multiple 0-15 models from the Martin factory to give to friends. Introduced in 1940, the 0-15 was dropped from the catalog in 1961 but a quite different version was re-introduced in the late 1990s.
