Details
When was the last time Gryphon had an original left-handed Brazilian rosewood D-28? Probably a decade ago, maybe longer. This example is pretty much original throughout, with the exception of the pickguard (and those original black acetate 'guards usually curl up sooner or later anyway). It's had a professional refret and plays great, delivering that classic Martin rosewood D tone and lots of it. The top crack (treble side, below bridge) was repaired and cleated a decade ago. All internal bracing is original, ditto the finish, which shows only light playing wear. The Brazilian rosewood is especially nice, with straight grain and great rich color. A great vintage Martin Dreadnought, in tone, playability, and appearance.
