Details
This NRP was built in 2016 in National Reso-Phonic's San Luis Obispo workshop. It has a distinctive Black Rust finish, a 12-fret mahogany neck with an adjustable truss rod and an ebony fretboard. It was inspired by the Duolians National made in the 1930s. Like those classic guitars, the NRP has a thin-gauge steel body flat-edge f-holes and a ribbed sieve-hole resonator coverplate. This guitar is in excellent structural and cosmetic condition with just a bit of fret wear.
Steel body Nationals like this have a slightly sweeter, mellower tone than their brass body siblings like the Style O. Metal body instruments. They are very popular with guitarists who play bottleneck-style slide but musicians who play 1920s jazz, old-time country and jug band music find the NRP’s powerful sound hard to resist.
