Details
While Martin continued to offer the Style A model for many years, this example from 1931 is far lighter than later versions and so has a louder and more lively tone. Other early touches include rosewood binding, an ebony fingerboard, and a thin faux tortoiseshell pickguard that's inlaid into the Adirondack spruce top. The short string scale makes it a joy to play (scale length is a full 3/4" shorter than Gibson's mandolin scale), so it's great for old time tunes or folk music in general. Comes with the original hardshell case.
