Details
Here's a remarkably original and unscathed '50s D-18, one that we sold a decade ago and we're glad to see it again. Original tuners, nut, pickguard and bridge. Finish is all original except for light touchup ages ago to a top crack near the bottom of the treble side lower bout (see photo 8, approx. between 4 and 5 o'clock). There's also a short repaired side crack on bass side near the waist. Professional refret several years ago, and Gryphon just recently did a neck reset. These old D-18s deliver more sound per pound than just about any acoustic (this one weighs barely 4 lbs.) and it has the brightness and balance so often missing in Dreadnoughts, while still delivering plenty of bass response. Comes in a nice recent-vintage TKL Deluxe case with Collings badge on the side.
