Details
This little 5-18 has a well-traveled look but that's mostly the result of the heavily crazed original lacquer, and the way that lacquer is lifting on the headstock. Structurally this vintage Martin is in great condition as the two top cracks were well repaired and it's had both a neck reset and recent refret. No cracks to back, sides, or neck, and still has the original Grover tuners and original pickguard. Thanks to the short string scale it's easy to play and it offers plenty of volume. This model was introduced in the 1840s as a terz model and that's why it's tuned high today, but you could use slightly heavier strings and tune it to standard pitch (which would make the string action even easier!)
