Details
Handcrafted in Vancouver, British Columbia the Modèle Elan 14 is a fantastic sounding gyspy jazz guitar with a few subtle twists thrown in. Essentially the Modèle Elan 14 infuses the traditional early Maccafari design with modern playability and these features, namely the 14-fret body, unlock unprecedented access to the uppermost regions of the fretboard. This guitar sports a rather beautifully figured spruce top with an elegant bear claw and a richly colored Macassar Ebony body. And for those looking to take this guitar to the stage, this model comes with the passive Dupont Big Tone Pickup discretely installed in the bridge, affording you the ability to easily amplify you’re playing with this simple to use piezo pickup.
Cosmetically, this guitar is in excellent condition, especially considering that it is 24+ years old. There are only a few tiny scratches randomly placed throughout the guitar and some slight patina to the tailpiece. Small instances of scratching occur on the back of the headstock which is most likely the result of re-stringing the instrument. Otherwise, the frets are in fantastic condition and the guitar is easy to play thanks an excellent set-up.
