Details
This is a great-sounding example of the Martin 16 Series from a previous era. Built in Nazareth, PA, it offers many of the tone and build features you'd expect from a traditional OM, with a few thoughtful updates that make it a great choice for modern players. It features solid Indian rosewood back and sides paired with a solid Sitka spruce top, delivering a rich, punchy voice with excellent clarity and dynamic range. The Hybrid X-Bracing combines elements of Martin’s traditional X-brace and A-frame designs, enhancing both resonance and structural stability. The cutaway not only provides easier access to the upper frets but also adds a more contemporary visual appeal. This guitar was also retroactively fitted with a Schertler Bluestick under-saddle pickup, offering a natural-sounding and dependable amplified tone, making it even more stage-ready. It is in great structural and cosmetic condition, with a few light surface level dings, and very minor binding discoloration in a few spots. Whether you're drawn to it for its tone, playability, or modern features, this OMC-16RE is a versatile OM that punches well above its weight. It comes with the original Martin Hardshell case.
