Details
How time flies....we first met Marty Lanham over 50 years ago, when he was still living in California and just getting started building instruments. Marty hit Nashville at full speed a couple years later and was soon in demand doing repairs for A-list musicians. The guitars he builds have always been highly regarded, and it only takes a few strums on this mahogany Dreadnought made twenty years ago to tell you why. It's not a slavish copy of Martin's D-18, with a subtle abalone rosette and nice diamonds & squares position markers. This has been played, there's light fret wear on the lower frets and a couple of small dings to the lacquer. Pick scuffs are thankfully confined to the pickguard.
Great sounding and playing mahogany D, lots of headroom without sounding forced, well-balanced tone, comfy 1 3/4" wide neck, a flatpickers dream but a guitar that could be used for almost any style of playing.
