Details
The Big Sky was a fully appointed F-style from the Bruce Weber era of Weber, featuring a flowerpot headstock inlay, full body and fingerboard binding, a cedar top, and beautiful flamed maple back and sides. This model sat between the Yosemite and Fern in the Weber lineup in 2007, when this one was built. At the time, it was among the fanciest Webers you could get your hands on, and that’s very apparent in both the sound and materials on this example. It has a big, full voice with a great chop that really cuts.
Cosmetically, it has definitely seen some action, especially around the upper point, where a previous owner appears to have picked over the fingerboard scoop and worn some finish away from the top. Beyond that, there’s lighter, more typical playwear throughout, including small pressure dings and surface-level scratches. Functionally, everything is solid and it plays great. The frets still have plenty of life left as well. Whoever owned this before must have really loved it, because it was clearly played a lot. Whether you’re gigging, jamming, recording, playing at home, or any combo of the above, this would make a fantastic all-around workhorse. It comes with its original gray Weber hardshell case.
