Fender's Custom Shop "Classic Custom" series offered a supped-up version of the American Series, offering the personalized touch of the custom shop and hand-built by Fender's most pedigreed builders. The most striking feature has to be the gorgeously figured maple neck which sports a comfortable "modern c" profile and 9.5" fingerboard radius. The pickups include a pair of modern classics (middle,neck) and a Hot Classic Single. These pickups are slightly overwound versions of a standard single-coil strat pickup and offer a punchy, warm attack that has a delightfully full sound.
For being an eighteen-year-old guitar, it is in remarkably good condition. Besides a noticeable indentation near the backplate, a small ding on the back, and a few other sporadic tiny dings, the guitar is in fantastic shape. Likewise, the frets show little signs of use, and the neck is free from any scuffs, dings or divots.
