Details
Collings offered several variations on this popular reissue of the 1930s Gibson-made Kalamazoo brand guitar models. The "14 X TR" in the model code stands for: 14 frets, X bracing (instead of ladder bracing), and TR means it has an adjustable truss rod in the neck. These plain models quickly gained a devoted following, and when Covid-era staff shortages forced Collings to discontinue the Waterloo line demand for clean used examples quickly followed. Players found comfort in the simple appointments and thin low-gloss finish, as the light construction and typical Collings fretwork delivers what you need in an un-fussy package. This example has a few finish dings to the top, but no cracks or sign of any repairs and the fret wear is so light you need bright lighting to see it. Delivers plenty of volume with that gutsy Waterloo tone, comes with original hardshell case
