Details
This Lowden S-50 was made in 2017 and it’s in fine structural and cosmetic condition. There is some minor fret wear but the frets have lots of life left in them. All of Lowden’s 50 series guitars are essential special orders and customers have the opportunity to choose any combination of woods in any body size. This particular guitar was ordered with master grade red cedar and master grade Indian rosewood, a classic tonewood combination. It has Lowden’s usual understated cosmetic treatment but touches like the figured Tasmanian rosewood binding and the abalone rosette add a bit of subtle flash. Lowden’s S style is about the size of a smallish OM, with a slightly shorter string scale, and the result is a very comfortable guitar to hold and to play. This S-50 delivers a lot of bass response for such a relatively small guitar, yet there's the typical Lowden clarity in the trebles. This guitar is fitted with Baggs Anthem pickup and it includes the original Hiscox case.
