Details
This O-35 was made in Lowden’s workshop in Downpatrick, Northern Ireland in 2018. It’s in excellent, lightly played condition with just a hint of fret wear. There is a small repaired crack in the neck just below the nut. The O body shape is the original Lowden "jumbo," first offered in 1976 and George Lowden has been building variations in different tonewood combinations ever since. This example was crafted with a Sitka spruce top and Honduran rosewood back and sides. This is a very different jumbo, and the rich overtones of Honduran rosewood pair well with the immediate response of the Sitka soundboard. The result is a guitar that responds to the lightest touch, yet still has oodles of headroom for more aggressive players. Include the original Hiscox case which is in similar clean condition.
