Details
George Lowden has always used his own guitarmaking playbook, largely ignoring the North American guitar standards established by Martin, Gibson, Guild and later Taylor. This is a very different jumbo, and the rich overtones of Madagascar rosewood pair well with the immediate "fast off the starting line" response of the red cedar soundboard. The result is a guitar that responds to the lightest touch, yet still has oodles of headroom for more aggressive players.
George Lowden and crew have done an excellent job of sourcing different alternative tonewoods, and building guitars that offer combinations of soundboard and body woods that no other major guitarmakers offer. We have similar 0 body Lowdens to this one but with different woods, offering players a chance to compare and contrast what these different materials lend to the sound of a steel string guitar. You'll be amazed at the difference between a rosewood Lowden O with red cedar soundboard, like this one, compared to the other wood combinations on O model Lowdens we have in stock.
