Harvested by our Northern neighbors in Oregon, Myrtle is one of those woefully underappreciated tonewoods that always seems to bring joy over here at Gryphon. With gorgeous figuring and golden hues, it's not only a beautiful wood, but it also delivers a nice balance of sounds. To our ears, it’s quite like maple: sparklingly clear with a nice clarity. The Pursuit Exotic S CE Myrtewood is a great example of what can be done with the wood. With the budget-conscious player in mind, this instrument offers a lot of guitar for a very reasonable price. Its mid-size body and full scale-length make this guitar perfect for fingerstyle players looking for a bright guitar with a snappy response. It’s also a great choice for light-strumming flat pickers looking for a guitar that accommodates their intimate style of play.
Cosmetically, this guitar is in excellent condition. Holding the guitar up to a light source reveals some tiny instances of scratching, but the guitar is otherwise free from any notably large blemishes. The frets show some small signs of wear, and there are some small divots on the first few frets of the top three strings, but the guitar will not need a re-fret for years to come.
