Here we have a cool take on the classic Rickenbacker 4003 bass. Built in 2022, this limited model pairs an all-satin Mapleglo finish with checkerboard binding and features Rickenbacker’s newer single truss rod design. It has a maple/walnut/maple neck-through body, with a satin fingerboard, which feels smooth and natural. A High Gain single-coil bridge pickup and Toaster neck pickup are wired with Rick-O-Sound stereo output, along with a push/pull Vintage Tone Selector. This bass delivers that unmistakable combination of punch, growl, and clarity you’d expect out of a Rick. Pulling the tone control engages the capacitor on the bridge pickup for the thinner, brighter and more cutting sound associated with vintage Rickenbacker basses. This example is in excellent cosmetic and structural condition and shows almost no evidence of play. If you want the unmistakable sound and feel of a 4003 with some very cool vintage-inspired appointments, this limited-edition version is great. Includes its original Rickenbacker hardshell case.
