For players looking for an affordable avenue to get their hands on an authentically vintage feeling instrument, we never hesitate to recommend Fender’s Vintage II line of guitars. So, if you’re in the market for a mid 60’s pre-CBS-styled tele re-issue, we’ve got the instrument for you. This two-year-old American Vintage II Telecaster is a faithful facsimile of a 1963 model, with excruciating detail paid to the subtle, defining features of an early sixties tele. Including, but not limited to, the 7.25” radius, 3-tone sunburst finish, threaded steel barrel saddles and laminated rosewood fingerboard. The neck profile is described as a 1963 “C” style. It is quite comfortable, and in our opinion, is one of the most accessible of all Fender’s vintage neck profiles, making it a great fit for players looking for their first vintage-styled instrument.
Cosmetically, this guitar is in very good condition. While it has been well taken care of, there are a few indications of wear on the top and back of the instrument. Careful examination will reveal a few scratches on the top and some instances of light scratches on the back, most notable, near the perimeter. Otherwise, the instrument is in perfect working order. The frets show faint signs of wear, but no significant divots or issues of playability. Likewise, all the hardware is in tip-top shape!
