Details
This is probably the most accurate reissue of a 1958 Les Paul Standard we've offered. It was crafted in 2023 in Gibson’s Murphy Lab for Wildwood Guitars and you can always count on Tom Murphy to get it right. Not only does this Les Paul feature the historically accurate metal and plastic parts, the construction techniques are accurate as well, such as the use of hide glue for gluing the top to the mahogany body, and gluing the rosewood fingerboard to the mahogany neck. In every way this LP reissue looks, feels, and sounds right. It’s fitted with a pair of Wildwood Spec Custombuckers, which do an uncanny job of capturing the nuances of an original PAF pickup.
The neck has a chunky but not too beefy C shape that is very comfortable to play. The perido correct Narrow-Tall frets show just whisper of wear. The nitrocellulose lacquer has been lightly aged and has a few minor scuffs and nicks here and there. This is a great sounding guitar with all of the sweetness and subtlety of a vintage Les Paul Standard at a fraction of the cost. Include the original Brown/Pink Lifton Reissue 5-Latch Case, the COA and all the other bits of case candy.
