This Beard Legacy R is inspired by the classic resophonic guitars that were built in California and Chicago in the 1930s. But unlike those guitars, which were usually made of laminated hardwood, this beauty is made of solid mahogany. This gives the guitar a rounder more resonant tone with lots of sustain. The body has a gloss finish with tobacco sunburst and is bound in curly maple. The round neck is made of solid mahogany fitted with an ebony fretboard with 19 frets. The sonic engine of this guitar is a handspun Beard Legend Cone paired with a Beard #14 spider. The tailpiece, screen and coverplate are chrome plated.
