Details
Jack Tuttle’s Bluegrass Fiddle Collection contains over 150 solos with detailed, accurate bowing and fingerings. Included are mandolin, banjo and fiddle tunes, with vocal style breaks and 8 pages of end licks, one for each bluegrass key. There are 113 songs, but many have an easier and a harder version. This collection focuses on the fiddling style used for bluegrass singing pieces, banjo and mandolin tunes, and a few of the fiddle tunes that are commonly played, but hard to find. While many of these pieces are challenging, all the required details are notated. Bowing is notated logically and fastidiously, with the bowing direction marks at the beginning of each measure. Left hand fingering is also notated in any instance where there might be a question.
The majority of these tunes and songs are from mainstream bluegrass jam repertoire. Bill Monroe, Flatt & Scruggs, and the Stanley Brothers repertoire are well represented. Many of the arrangements have mp3 links. Spiral-bound softcover book, measuring 8.5x11 inches. 104 pages.
