Details
The Lyon & Healy models from this period offer a distinct advantage to players with small hands because the string scale length is 13" (instead of 13 3/4" for equivalent Gibsons). Thanks to careful graduation of the top and back, and light construction overall, this example certainly doesn't lack volume or projection. Another plus is that the fret board has a radius, so Lyon & Healy was ahead of the curve on that, and the neck is thankfully very straight.
Although there's surface wear to the original finish, primarily on the one-piece back, there are no cracks that we could find and all parts and finish appear to be original. The pickguards and tailpieces found on these models are very high quality, and low production (compared to Gibson) has made these parts almost impossible to find. Thankfully you won't be looking for what got lost along the way with this one! (comes with original hardshell case)
