Details
The Carr Skylark was inspired by the low-power American amps of the late 1950s and early 1960s. These small amps delivered rich, complex tones at real world volumes making them very usable in both recording sessions and small gigs. The Skylark takes that basic utility and adds some modern sonic sophistication, making a great thing even better. The Skylark delivers an impressive variety of tones, including focused cleans with lots of headroom and a full complement of overdriven tones.
The Skylark generates 12 watts from a pair of 6V6GT power tubes. It expands the tone stage with a Mid control and an extended-range Presence control. A Hi/Low gain switch and onboard attenuator enhance the drive and output capabilities. The Skylark is fitted with a tube-driven spring reverb, which adds lush, multi-dimensional atmospherics. Like many Carr amps, the Skylark has an extremely usable built in attenuator. When the attenuator is off, the amp supplies its full 12-watt output. When on, the knob allows you to adjust between 0 to a surprisingly loud 1.2 watts. The cabinet is crafted from solid dovetailed North Carolina yellow pine with a floating speaker baffle.
