Details
This Collings MF mandolin has satin finish back and sides, a gloss top, ivoroid top binding and a lovely subtle sunburst. It has a carved Adirondack spruce top and highly figured maple back and sides. Although this mandolin is modestly appointed it has the woody tone and projection of the fancier mandolins Collings builds.
The Adirondack soundboard gives this F model a lot of headroom and a powerful chord chop when you're playing back-up, but it's also capable of a smooth melodic tone, especially if you move your pick closer to the end of the fretboard. And for players looking for a little more room, the 1 3/16” wide nut supplies that little extra territory for easy chording.
