Details
This OM1 was thoughtfully ordered with an Engelmann spruce top, which, when paired with mahogany back and sides, delivers a slightly richer overtone content than a standard Sitka-topped model. Engelmann’s naturally mellow treble response also gives this guitar a tonal character that falls somewhere between the clarity of a traditional OM1 and the warmth of an OM2 with rosewood. You still get the classic punch and articulation of a long-scale (25.5") OM, which really shines when taking advantage of the cutaway for lead work up the neck. A faux-tortoise pickguard and matching body binding add elegant visual touches, and it comes in a wooden hardshell case. If you’re after a versatile, great-playing workhorse with a unique tonal voice, this one’s well worth checking out.
