Details
Back in 2018 Martin redesigned the HD-28 in some subtle but important ways. Consequently, the model now has vintage-inspired open back tuners, the delicate diamonds & squares fretboard inlay, and the lightly toned top finish, features that were previously only available on vintage reissues. The sound of the HD-28 has also changed a bit thanks to the forward-shifted scalloped X bracing, a feature that dates back to the 1930s. Other changes and upgrades to this latest version of the HD-28 include a 1 3/4" nut width, bridge pins that are set at the same angle as the saddle and celluloid tortoiseshell-colored pickguard and a vintage-style C. F. Martin decal on headstock. The HD-28 has been one of the most popular Martin models here at Gryphon and the the new version takes a good thing and makes it even better.
