2022 National Reso-Phonic RM1 Walnut Resophonic Mandolin Used
This used National RM-1 was made in 2022 and it’s in excellent structural and cosmetic condition. In the early 1930s when National introduced their resonator mandolins the catalog stated that that the instrument “retained the clear, ringing tone typical of a good mandolin, yet the cone amplifier makes possible the volume wanted for ensemble playing.” The RM-1 mandolin from National Reso-Phonic is built in that same tradition.
It boasts traditional features such as an A-style body, biscuit bridge, and vintage-style open-gear tuners, combined with modern appointments, including an intonated saddle and the comfortably radiused, extended fretboard topping the maple neck. The body is carved from walnut with a maple top. The RM-1 is louder than just about any other mandolin out there, but it has a sweeter, woodier tone than you might expect from a resophonic instrument. Include the original hardshell case.
