Details
Pisgah’s Rambler Dobson Special 11” sits at the more premium end of their Dobson-style offerings. It’s built with a walnut neck, an 11” pot with a spun brass rim, and aged brass hardware. This one features the shorter 25.5" scale length, which makes for a very comfortable, easy-playing feel. The Richlite fingerboard includes an S-scoop frailing scoop, so you can play over the neck and get that deeper, plunkier tone. It’s also fitted with a Dobson-style tone ring, one of the hottest innovations in the banjo world back in the 1880s, and still a favorite for open-back banjos today. The 11” head gives this banjo a clear, forward voice, while the tone ring adds depth and low-end. The neck has a “folk in walnut” heel design, which is elegant and sturdy, and features a vintage-style "fiddle-shaped" headstock with a Richlite veneer and star inlay. This Pisgah is a thoughtful blend of modern playability and faithful vintage tone and style. It comes with a Pisgah-branded Access gig bag.
