Details
Pisgah’s Laydie is their homage to Vega's Whyte Laydie, one the most revered open-back banjos out there. It features the famous scalloped tone ring, which is made by hand and based on the original specifications. The particular banjo has a 12- inch diameter shell which adds a lot of bottom end (for a banjo) to the clarity and thump. Like its ancestor it has an unstained, “Whyte” maple neck. Other features include a frailing scoop fingerboard, aged brass hardware, and a star inlay on the headstock. The Pisgah Laydie presents amazing volume, punchiness, and great responsiveness for playability. Includes a padded gig bag. Along with making great instruments, another plus is that the Pisgah crew looks out beyond the small world of banjos, using domestic hardwoods, making almost all of their own metal hardware, and taking good care of their workers and the planet (the Pisgah workshop is a net zero carbon 100% solar powered facility).
