Probably the easiest playing OM in the Gryphon building, this status can be attributed to two features:
The most important is the shorter (24 3/4") string scale, which reduces string tension and makes those hard-to-reach chord positions a lot easier. You would normally think that lower tension would mean less volume, but with an Adirondack top & braces we question if this guitar would make any player wish it was a bit louder.
What also makes this OM easier to play, at least for most of us, is the 1 11/16" wide neck (instead of 1 3/4"). The problem with such measurements is that lots of very different neck profiles get labeled with the same stat. This neck has string spacing that's slightly wider than most high-production steel strings, and it works because SCGC has done an excellent job of finishing the fret ends. This means the neck is more narrow but your fingers don't feel cramped trying to avoid muffled notes. And once again the plus side is less reach for the fingers of your left hand.
We haven't said much about the condition of this used SCGC because it's so close to appearing new. It has been played, and there are a couple of very small dings to the top that are difficult to detect. The original case is in equally fine condition.
