It's easy to find a guitar case that protects your valuable instrument but often the extra protection adds weight and bulk, making it awkward to travel with. Hiscox guitar cases offer an alternative that's strong, light and less bulky, as well as being surprisingly affordable. Hiscox cases have been made in Staffordshire, England for more than three decades, and their molded, ABS outer shell is extremely sturdy. We’ve always been impressed with how the Hiscox cases supplied with Lowden guitars have held up under heavy use over many years so we know these cases last and last.
Gryphon has been carrying Hiscox cases for acoustic guitars for the last five years and we’re recently expanded the sizes we carry to include versions for both Gibson and Fender-style solidbody electrics. The blend of strength and light weight make them an excellent choice for heavier guitars like Les Pauls and certain Strats and Teles.
Traditional plywood cases look great, and are a perfect match for a fine guitar, but they aren't always up the rigors of modern travel. The covering on traditional cases can can get scuffed or otherwise damaged if they are not handled carefully, but the molded shell of Hiscox cases is very resistant to nicks, dings and scratches.

Hiscox cases are a molded, high-impact resistant ABS outer shell, bonded to a cellular foam inner mold. This semi-rigid mold soaks up shock from impact better than just about anything, as well as being ultra light. The plastic outer shell adds rigidity, but it's the aluminum valance that runs around the edge of both the lid and the lower case body that ties everything together. On Hiscox cases, this valance extends well into the case wall, behind the plastic outer shell, and all hinges, handles, and latches are riveted to the metal valance. This continuous valance is what makes the difference between a Hiscox case and the comparitively flimsy plastic cases you’re probably encountered in the past, but it’s something you can’t see from the outside. But when you try flexing or twisting the lid, or the lower case body, when a Hiscox is open you’ll immediately see and feel the difference. When those two halves are latched together the result is a very rigid protective shell around your instrument.
