Taylor GS Mini-e Bass in Koa or Maple

The Taylor GS Mini-e Bass comes in two variations, koa and maple. The GS Mini-e Koa Bass has a solid top with layered koa back and sides. Along with a striking appearance, this bass has a rich, mellow tone. The GS Mini-e Maple Bass has a solid Sitka spruce top and layered maple back and sides. This bass has a clear, focused tone. Either model of the Taylor GS Mini-E Bass would be an inspiring tool to have on hand for writing, recording demos, and jamming with friends.

The Taylor GS Mini-e Bass delivers an amazing amount of low end rumble in a package that’s compact and lightweight. This bass has a 23-1/2-inch scale length, about 10 inches shorter than the scale length of a standard bass guitar. The condensed fret spacing is physically easier on anyone’s hands, from kids to bass newbies to seasoned bass players craving a couch-friendly option.

The Taylor GS Mini-e Bass comes equipped with the ES-B pickup system, which incorporates Taylor’s own Expression System 2 piezo design elements. The ES-B features an onboard preamp with separate controls for volume and tone. The ES-B also has a built-in digital chromatic tuner, a handy device to have onboard that eliminates the need for a pedal or clip-on tuner. The pTaylor GS Mini-e Bass includes a hard gig bag featuring adjustable backpack straps for easy portability.

The short scale works because of the custom strings that Taylor developed in partnership with D'Addario. The coated phosphor bronze wire is wrapped around a nylon core, which results in a slinky feel and the ability to produce warm, clear bass notes. Because the Taylor GS Mini-e Bass has much shorter scale length than standard bass, these are the only strings that will work with it.
