Details
This Collings OM1C is the epitome of vintage sound and modern accessibility. Built with a Sitka spruce top and mahogany back and sides, it has the balance, clarity, and responsiveness you’d expect from a Collings OM, a strong fundamental note, crisp trebles, and excellent note separation all the way up the neck. The cutaway makes upper fret access effortless, and the setup is especially comfortable, with low action that makes it easy to play for long stretches. Tonally, it feels very open and responsive, with the kind of quick attack that Collings does so well. This guitar is very dynamic and has a delicate and light sound for fingerstyle, but still has plenty of headroom when you dig in. We love a Collings that is over 20 years old, because they open up beautifully over time. There’s some general playwear here and there, but is overall very clean for its age. There was once a pickup that was taken out, but it didn’t leave any evidence other than an output jack in place of bottom strap button. It includes its original Collings branded hardshell case.
