Details
Every ten years, Fender releases a series of first-year Stratocaster reissues to celebrate the guitar’s anniversary. This Custom Shop build from 2024 is a faithful recreation of a 1954 Stratocaster, which nails the vintage look and feel, but with a level of precision and playability that modern players will appreciate. Made with a lightweight ash body, this guitar is extremely resonant with impressive sustain. The maple neck is a chunky but comfortable ‘50s-style ”U” shape, paired with a 7.25"–9.5" compound radius fingerboard that makes it easier to play in higher positions while still retaining that vintage feel. The “wide fade” nitrocellulose lacquer finish has an excellent relic job, with wear patterns that evoke the natural aging of an original ‘50s Strat. The plastic pickup covers and knobs mimic the look of the original Bakelite parts, adding to the vintage vibe, and the guitar is outfitted with Custom Shop Hand-Wound '54-style pickups that deliver that signature sparkle and snap. If you’re after a Stratocaster that feels, sounds, and looks like the real deal, without chasing down an original, this one is hard to beat. It includes the original hardshell case, Certificate of Authenticity, spec sheet, and Custom Shop Design Guide.
