Details
This Epiphone archtop has seen lots of playing time over the years but it has held up well and is ready for more. Original tuners and tuner buttons, plus the original pickguard (a rarity!). Frequensator tailpiece has been repaired at the hinge and seems solid. The adjustable bridge is well-fitted to the top but hard to be sure all the bridge parts are original. Finish appears original, note that the celluloid binding has come loose in some spots and been reglued, typical binding shrinkage has resulted in some gaps. Note that the carved spruce top has some compression fractures at the outer edge of the lower bout (treble side), but the carved maple back has no cracks at all. There's lots of wear to the barrel of the neck but the neck finish, what's left of it, appears original. A sturdy American archtop from the era when jazz guitars ruled!
