It’s not every day that a Rickenbacker finished in Montezuma Brown comes through the shop, but we always welcome a Rick in a non-standard finish. The 340 is essentially the upgraded big brother to the 330, with an added middle pickup for maximum jangle. This one also sports a factory vibrato, so whether you’re after those sparkly rhythm sounds or expressive leads, it can handle it all.
The bridge pickup delivers that classic ’60s chime, while the middle position of the 3-way switch gets you into almost Strat-like “in-between” territory. The neck pickup is surprisingly full and beefy, rounding out a very versatile palette of tones. If you’ve been keeping an eye out for a nice Rickenbacker, you’ll have a hard time finding a cleaner example in this finish. This guitar has no noticeable blemishes and barely any fretwear. Comes with its original hardshell case.
