We'd vote this as perhaps the most beautiful carved-top hollowbody model Gryphon has offered, at least for those who prefer a subtle approach to guitar decoration. For starters, there's a highly flamed mahogany carved top, faux tortoiseshell celluloid binding on all body and neck edges, plus carved ebony knobs. And the original owner didn't skimp on electronics upgrades, opting for Haussel Humbuckers.
As for condition, how many plus signs can be added to "excellent"? There's no fret wear, the original owner clearly saw this custom Collings, built while Bill Collings was still working, as a work of art. But that doesn't mean you can't enjoy the artistry and play it, too.
