Details
This Waterloo WL-S Deluxe was made by Collings in Austin, Texas in 2019. It’s in excellent structural condition and very good cosmetic condition. The finish does show signs of being handled and there are handful of small scuffs and nicks here and there. The frets are in fine shape and the neck is straight and true. The Collings crew really did their homework in researching old Stellas to get both the right look and feel of those iconic New Jersey guitars back when the Stella brand instruments were made by Oscar Schmidt.
This is a small 12-fret, just 14 inches wide in the lower bout (so slightly larger than a Martin size 0). The back and sides are solid North American cherry, with a solid spruce top and mahogany neck. The ebony pyramid bridge, at first glance, looks like a Martin bridge but if you look more closely you'll see the different shape in the tips . It's ladder braced but doesn't sound like it. Nor does it sound like a small guitar. It’s a great guitar for songwriting since it's so small it tucks under your arm, but really it's a great guitar for any situation where small size with a big sound is suitable. In other words, just about anytime! Includes the original hardshell case
