The standard 5-string Deering Goodtime is our most popular banjo and an excellent value for a beginning or intermediate picker looking to get into the banjo world. The Goodtime Artisan Americana boasts some variations that will appeal to old-time style banjo pickers. The most noticeable feature is the Midnight Maple fretboard, which is created using a unique staining process developed by Deering. The Artisan Americana also has a 12-inch head, which produces the sweeter, mellower tone that many clawhammer players prefer. Other upgrades include an armrest and fancier inlays. Like its sibling, it features a 3-ply maple rim. The Goodtime tailpiece is Deering’s own design and the tension hoop is rolled in-house from raw metal.
