This Dobson has a 11-inch head and Pisgah’s standard, 26 3/16” scale length, which gives it excellent projection and clarity. The fingerboard is persimmon with a frailing scoop. This banjo is fitted with a Dobson-style tone ring, the hottest thing going in the banjo world of the 1880s, and a style that has found favor with contemporary clawhammer players looking for a tone that balances a woody, mellow timbre with clarity.The walnut neck has a graceful 'boat heel' design and the peghead is the 1880s paddle style and features a marquetry “Quilted Star” inlay. Includes a padded gig bag.
