Details
This Custom Shop Journeyman ’60 Telecaster was part of a run that was special-ordered by a store in Wisconsin. It is a great example of an all-original Custom Shop guitar. Finished in a lovely aged vintage blonde nitrocellulose lacquer, this Tele has the unmistakable look of a transitional era for Fender. Some of the preproduction models for 1960 would have used older pickguards, which is why this one has a 1-ply white pickguard instead of the later 3-ply mint guard. This guitar has an extremely comfortable 9.5” fingerboard radius, giving it modern playability, which pairs really well with the chunkier oval C-shaped neck. The pickups are handwound ’59 style Tele pickups, and combined with the lightweight ash body, make for a resonant, twangy but full Telecaster with a ton of sustain. This is truly a great instrument and would serve anyone looking for a great Telecaster very well. It comes with its original brown ‘60s style hardshell case.
