About Carol: Carol McComb teaches guitar and vocal workshops at Gryphon. A Bay area singer, songwriter, recording artist and guitarist, Carol has over 35 years experience teaching these classes. She has authored a best selling guitar book, written many articles for Acoustic Guitar magazine and taught at many music camps in the U.S. and Canada. She has toured extensively in duos and bands and also with Linda Ronstadt and Joan Baez.

Workshops meet for nine weekly sessions. They cover a variety of levels. All workshops meet one hour each week in groups of 15 – 20 students in a relaxed atmosphere where there is opportunity for individual attention when needed. All the workshop materials (songsheets) are free. Recording devices (MP3, etc) are welcome. Please use batteries.

Musical Style/Genre: Carol’s music is at ease in a range of music that covers gentle love songs, classic country and bluegrass, swing and bluesy country, and difficult subjects like growing old, child abuse, Alzheimer’s disease, and homelessness.
