Details
One of the nicest rosewood pre-WWII Martin 000 models Gryphon has had in a long time (the term "pre-war" is often stretched when describing 1940s Martins, but since production on this example began May 22, 1941, it qualifies). For starters, this 000-21 has no cracks and is completely original with the exception of the bridge (bridge plate is original, too). Another plus is that the original finish is in excellent condition and except for some pick/finger wear to the top around the pickguard and upper end of the fingerboard, there's only light wear. Has had a neck reset and refret, no sign of any other repairs but the bridge replacement. And while we're talking about that bridge, yes, the saddle is more steeply angled than Martin would have done it. However, as a result this 000 has remarkably accurate intonation up the neck, a feature you rarely if ever encounter on a vintage Martin! Sounds great, with the balance and clarity these models are famous for, and you'll find yourself playing more up the neck because it plays in tune.
Comes with the original hardshell case.
