Details
It wasn't too many years ago when Martin was still behind some of the younger US guitar companies when it came to playability (OK, we're talking about Taylor). Those days are in the past, and this Custom Shop 000-42 has incredibly low string action plus a comfy low-profile neck, and when those factors are combined with the short 24.9" string scale the result is playability that would be hard to beat. All that warm Martin tone is there, and with the lightly braced Alpine spruce soundboard you don't have to work hard to get it as this guitar responds to even the lightest touch. And the figured rosewood back (what Martin calls "Wild Grain") makes the back side of this 000 as attractive as the highly inlaid front view.
We hope you can come to the shop and play this in person as it may change your opinion about Martin playability.
