Details
Today, this early Rickenbacker Electro Hawaiian guitar looks odd or even ungainly, and it's easy to see why it was quickly dubbed the Frying Pan model. But that big fat 1 1/2" wide horseshoe magnet pickup is, even now, considered to be one of the best pickups ever offered to amplify the sound of a guitar. Rarely does an historical instrument hold up for contemporary use, but this one does. And the player can also take satisfaction in using an instrument that, without exaggeration, changed the American guitar forever.
