Details
You rarely get a chance for a new guitar that's eleven years-old, but here's a D-18V that qualifies as there are just no signs it has even seen much handling, let alone actual playing time. And being a Vintage Series model, which was significantly more expensive than the Standard Series D-18, this example has a nice, even-grained spruce top and ebony fingerboard & bridge. Although it still smells pretty much like a quite new guitar, the lacquer has settled with all those years in the case, giving the surface of the body the slight patina of a not-new finish. Forward-shifted top bracing (scalloped of course) gives this that classic Martin mahogany Dreadnought oomph while faux tortoiseshell binding & pickguard, plus abalone fingerboard dots, are the subtle visual touches. This is from the last year of Martin's Vintage Series. Comes in the TKL Vintage Series original case, equally clean.
